Then there was cavalry...
In third edition, these would be Temple Ritterbruden, though I would field them with heavy weapons instead of lances and no shields.
Again, in third edition, the Kislev allies don't really match these models so I simply field these as Stadtsknechts. These are some of my favorite models I've ever painted, but I just noticed I didn't paint the edge of the banner. Hmph, I'm off to do that now.
Besides these, I also have Reiksguard Knights (the original metals), Knights Panther (newer Plastic minis), Kislev Horse Archers, and the Knights of Morr (converted plastics with greenstuff tattered cloaks). These suffer the same affliction of my handgunners in that they are on Goblin Green bases and will be camera shy until I get around to rebasing them.
That's it for now. Of course I have artillery too, but again on green bases. I probably have enough Empire to face off against my Chaos and Undead combined. Certainly if I painted a few of the Dwarf and Bretonnian units I have in the cupboard. One of these days...

Oldhammer Empire Army - Part Two
The core of the army was made up of three large infantry units - halberdiers, handgunners, and flagellants.
I thought it was weird I only had 21 Helblitzen. Even accounting for characters I usually build to 24. Of course, I found three more in another tray in my storage box AFTER taking this photo.
In the third edition army book, you could have 0-16 Fleglers and they were deployed in units of 8, so my large unit would be two units if I used those lists. Still potent, but missile fire will be very dangerous to them in such small units.
The Handgunners are still on Goblin Green bases, so I haven't photographed them yet. When I get the time to rebase them, I'll add them here. I also have a unit of 16 Archers and 10 Crossbowmen, all on green bases...

Oldhammer Empire Army - Part One
Having committed myself to Rouge Trader for 2017, of course my next posts are Oldhammer...
Actually, these models were already painted and have appeared here in low-res scans, but I finally had the chance to photograph them properly...
The last time I was serious about Warhammer I built up my Empire army around a witch hunter theme and all of the units were led by said characters...
Next up, the infantry...

Oldhammer Empire
These models are actually a little beyond what I consider Oldhammer as they are more firmly set in fourth edition and after, but they are one of the first armies I ever painted and the only one purchased in that era that I still own. I updated them a few years ago by rebasing, adding new flags, and generally touching up the paint.
Besides these models, there are also 7 Reiksguard Knights (normally accompanied by the Reiksmarshall to make a unit of 8), 8 Knights Panther, 24 handgunners, 16 archers, 5 Pistoleers, 6 Kislev Horse Archers, a few artillery, and various heroes and wizards that for some reason I never got around to photographing. I also have a unit of 6 Knights of Morr that I converted, but never got around to painting (but I probably have plenty of cavalry already). I need to think about taking some new photos...
I need to get ten crossbowmen to make a 'legal' 3rd edition list, but I need to play around with these and see how many points I can come up with. Hmm... actually I already have ten models from Pizarro's Lost Legion that I could assemble as crossbowmen (they could be built with pikes or crossbows)... I found them during the same search that turned up the rhino kit (and with the same surprise... what's in this box?). I wonder if you can have too many models?
Ok, now I am excited to add these into the rotation with all of these Chaos and Undead models (toddles off to make an army list). Oh, yeah... I also have some Bretonnians on the way!
